Applicants must be commencing study in 2019 or 2020 on one of the following programmes:

How it works

When you enrol on to your postgraduate programme with NMIT, you will pay tuition fees each year. A discount will be applied to your tuition fee payment, based on the value of the total credits of the courses you are enrolled on, up to a maximum of $3,000, over a maximum of two years as long as the terms and conditions are met.

The scholarship value is calculated based on $375 for each 15-credit course. Example scholarship scenarios:

Example 1: Study any 1-year postgraduate diploma full time

1 year full time study of 8 x 15-credit courses x $375 per course = $3,000 scholarship

Example 2: Study any postgraduate diploma part-time over two years

Year 1 part time at 4 x 15-credit courses per year x $375 per course = $1,500, plus
Year 2 part time at 4 x 15-credit courses per year x $375 per course = $1,500
= Total scholarship value of $3000, spread over two years of study.

Example 3: Study any postgraduate diploma part-time over three years

Note, this is just one scenario, as part-time study varies. Talk to our Student Advisors about planning your study.

Year 1 part time at 4 x 15-credit courses per year x $375 per course = $1,500, plus
Year 2 part time at 3 x 15-credit courses per year x $375 per course = $1,125
Year 3 no scholarship, because of the two-year time limit.
= Total scholarship value of $2625, spread over the first two years of study.

Example 4: Study Masters of Applied Management full time

Year 1 full time study: 8 x 15-credit courses per year x $375 per course = $3,000, plus
Year 2: No further scholarship value, since the maximum value is utilised in year one.

Example 5: Study Masters of Applied Management part-time over three years

Note, this is just one scenario, as part-time study varies. Talk to our Student Advisor about planning your study.

Year 1 part time at 3 x 15-credit courses per year x $375 per course = $1,125, plus
Year 2 part time at 3 x 15-credit courses per year x $375 per course = $1,125
Year 3 no scholarship, because of the two year time limit.
= Total scholarship value of $2,250, spread over the first two years of study.

Terms and conditions

  1. The postgraduate scholarship is available to domestic students commencing their postgraduate study in 2019, or 2020. Domestic students who commenced postgraduate study in 2018, can access the scholarship for the 2019 year only.
  2. The scholarship is allocated on a pro rata basis according to the number of course credits, limited to a maximum of $3,000 per student, over a maximum two-year period.  Your particular study plan may take longer than two years. Alternatively, your study plan might be completed in less time by completing more than eight courses in a year (or more than four courses part-time). In all cases, the scholarship can only be applied to the first two years and is limited to a maximum of $3,000 per student. The scholarship value is calculated at $375 per 15-credit course. See ‘How it Works’ and scenario examples above.
  3. The scholarship closes 31 December 2020 to new enrolled students. For clarification, students must commence study before this date.  Students who are already on the scholarship programme at that time can utilise any unused value, within the arrangements as detailed above, within the $3,000 maximum and two-year time limit from commencing study. For example, if you commence study in July 2020, then your July 2021 fees may have the appropriate scholarship value applied.
  4. The Postgraduate scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship or special offer.
  5. For the suite of programmes within the Masters of Applied Management (including Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma) the scholarship applies once. This means the $3,000 maximum value and two-year time limit starts from the commencement of study, and covers all programmes in this suite.
