Report a privacy breach

If you suspect a privacy breach has occurred or is occurring at NMIT, please notify us immediately by completing the Report a Privacy Breach form.

A privacy breach occurs when personal information is intentionally or accidentally:
accessed by someone who is not authorised to see it disclosed to the wrong person altered, lost, or destroyed without authorisation, or unavailable to the person it relates to (for example, because their account has been compromised).
Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual. It includes, but is not limited to: name, contact details, date of birth, images, log-in or account details, employment, health or financial information.

If you become aware of a suspected privacy breach, notify us immediately by:
completing the Report a Privacy Breach form emailing the Privacy Officer at privacyofficer@nmit.ac.nz and informing your manager (if you are kaimahi)
All suspected privacy breaches must be reported, even if you are unsure whether a breach has occurred.
