What is a Privacy Breach?  

A privacy breach occurs when personal information is intentionally or accidentally:
  • accessed by someone who is not authorised to see it 
  • disclosed to the wrong person 
  • altered, lost, or destroyed without authorisation, or 
  • unavailable to the person it relates to (for example, because their account has been compromised). 
Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual.  It includes, but is not limited to: name, contact details, date of birth, images, log-in or account details, employment, health or financial information.

How to report a privacy breach  

If you become aware of a suspected privacy breach, notify us immediately by:
