Based near Nelson port that houses New Zealand’s largest fishing fleet, our world-class maritime facilities ensure you’ll get hands-on, real-world experience and education.

Commercial vessel lifeboat and launching davits
Industry-standard survival craft and launching systems allow learners to safely practise lifeboat launching, recovery and emergency procedures before working onboard.
Custom-designed fast rescue boat
Our purpose-built 6.2m fast rescue boat, Kina, provides realistic training in search and rescue, crew recovery and emergency response techniques.
New Zealand's first three-storey maritime firefighting training facility
A purpose-built firefighting facility at our Richmond Campus allows learners to safely experience realistic onboard fire scenarios and develop the skills needed to respond effectively in an emergency.
