This course aims to help learners develop their spreadsheet skills using Excel. Learn the basics, good housekeeping and fundamental foundation skills.

None.

Indicative course content

  • Open Excel programme and understand the differences between web and desktop versions 
  • Navigate around a spreadsheet, cells, rows and understand various components of a spreadsheet
  • Using worksheet tools such as a series fill, autofill, flashfill, shortcuts, etc
  • Formatting data, filter and sort data in a spreadsheet
  • Link spreadsheet cells to Word documents and other spreadsheet worksheets
  • Use a standard spreadsheet application that includes the formatting of a spreadsheet, and the concept of absolute and relative referencing
  • Produce computer spreadsheets that include inputting text and numbers
  • Customising Excel
  • Performing simple arithmetic
  • Printing spreadsheets
  • Produce graphs from data
