This is a stand-alone Micro-Credential and, like the others, can be studied flexibly, online and independently while working as an aircraft maintenance engineer. This will allow you to continue full-time employment in the aviation industry while working towards completing your CAA examinations – a compulsory requirement for licensing.

This course helps students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain electrical components found within aircrafts.

NZQA Unit Standard 26964 will be awarded after the successful completion of the AMEL Electrical Fundamentals Exam 1B.

How do Micro-Credentials work?

This Micro-Credential is studied online so you can fit it around your work commitments and is available for 52 weeks from enrolment. You should allow approximately 23 hours per week of self-directed learning per course.

Micro-Credentials allow you to apply and pay for one subject at a time, this means you can pass the ASPEQ (CAA) exam and enrol on the next Training Scheme of your choice.

NMIT has been teaching aeronautical engineering maintenance for many years and is New Zealand's first approved NZCAA Part 147 Certified Maintenance Training Organisation.
