Study Abroad and Student Exchange
Come and experience the best that New Zealand has to offer whilst continuing your studies and gaining all important credits. NMIT's Nelson and Marlborough campuses are located at the top of the South Island, giving us privileged access to some of the best outdoor activities and scenery anywhere in the world.
At NMIT study abroad and exchange, students can study in the subject area of their major and include courses from other subject areas, dependent on timetable clashes and meeting necessary prerequisites.
Get the credit you deserve
Most of our courses are worth 15 NMIT Credits (7.5 ECTS/3.75 US Semester Credits).
Choosing a full year of study would equate to between 90 and 120 credits.
At NMIT most of our Bachelor's Degrees are completed in 3 years. Level 5 is a degree's first year, and students graduate after completing level 7.

NMIT football teamThe NMIT football team is a great way to make new friends from New Zealand and around the world. This year we have players from New Zealand, North America, South America, Asia and Europe. The team play in the third division of Nelson’s league, having great fun on the pitch and socialising throughout the week. Study Abroad at NMIT and have the chance to join the team! |

We have joined the USA Institute of International Education’s Generation Study Abroad initiative to help more students from the USA to gain international experience through study abroad programs. We welcome USA students to join NMIT for a study abroad semester, year, certificate, diploma or degree.
