Move beyond Kia ora

This foundation qualification is for you if you have very little to no te reo Māori. Start your te reo journey here.

Learn at the time that suits you - part time in the evening (5 - 9pm) and four noho (weekend learning experiences) over one year or full time (9am - 3pm) during the day for semester one.

Once you have mastered Level 1 you can move onto Level 2.

If you have not studied te reo Māori with us before you will need to come in for an interview so we can make sure you are studying at the right level for you.

To find out more about the different levels of te reo Māori study available and where you should begin your studies, come in for a kōrero (chat) in Te Toki Pakohe (D Block) or email us: maoristudies@nmit.ac.nz
