We have over 350 parking spaces across our campuses, available for both visitors and learners. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Parking at the Nelson Campus

If you're studying at our Nelson Campus, you must register your licence plate to park onsite from 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday - one vehicle per learner only. Simply complete the online form after enrolling using the button below. Your details will be sent directly to Parking Enforcement Services(external link).

  • Night class learners: No registration is needed, and parking is unmonitored after 4:30 pm.
  • Day/block course learners: Please register your vehicle.
  • Marlborough or Richmond learners: Please register your vehicle.
  • Parking dates will align with your enrolment period and will be listed on the Parking Enforcement Services website.

Parking rules & infringements

On-site parking is monitored. Failure to follow parking rules or register your licence plate may result in an $85 fine from Parking Enforcement Services.

Nelson City Council monitors off-site parking, and breaches may result in a Parking Breach Notice (fine).

Overnight stays & camping

Overnight stays or camping in vehicles (self-contained or non-self-contained) are not permitted in NMIT car parks. Please check local council websites for approved freedom camping and accommodation options. If you need assistance, contact SANITI(external link) for support.
