If you are interested in knowing how to make and enjoy the perfect espresso, then enrol for this course.
The course topics include the history, the science and the process of espresso. Training is in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere using a commercial espresso machine and quality product. Those who successfully complete this course will be awarded a Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology Record of Participation.
Content:
- The coffee tree, from the bean to the roast
- The different ways of producing coffee
- Breaking down the principles: the grind, dosing, tamping, the Perfect extraction, over and under extraction, milk steaming
- The espresso machine and how it works
- Demonstration of different espresso based drinks
- Hands on (machine time)
- Care and maintenance of your equipment
- Coffee quiz and lots of coffee drinking.
