We offer a suite of refresher courses for holders of STCW Certificates of Competency. Whether you are a Master, Mate, Deck Officer, Marine Engineer Officer or Able Seafarer, we can provide refresher training to meet your needs.

Our STCW refresher courses are bundled together for your convenience. So if you need STCW PISC and STCW Advanced Fire refreshers, you will find that they are conveniently timetabled one after the other.

Course Purpose

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with refresher training in fast rescue boats which meets STCW refresher requirements, as detailed in Section A-VI/2-2 of the STCW Code.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate how to handle and take charge of a fast rescue boat including the process for righting a capsized fast rescue boat.
  • Demonstrate recovery of a casualty from the water and transfer to a ship or to a place of safety
  • Demonstrate casualty handling techniques
  • Use the emergency equipment carried in a fast rescue boat
