This course will introduce students to jewellery making and repair through group and individual projects.

The below list gives an indication of the types of things you can expect to learn in this course,

  • Necklace and pendants
  • Earrings
  • Bracelet
  • Handmade findings
  • Design and layout
  • Wire bending, linking and binding
  • Wire and metal manipulation (hammering and drilling)
  • Stringing beads – thread, tiger tail, elastic
  • Braids work and macramé

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to

  1. Design and construct a range of jewellery items
  2. Alter and repair a range of jewellery items
  3. Use hand tools safely and appropriately

This course is not assessed.

You can expect to learn through group and individual projects, one on one teaching as well as group instruction and demonstrations, project-based problem solving and self-directed activities.
