This course aims to
introduce you to sculpture through class projects and individual projects
introduce you to the design process through research and problem solving approach
introduce a range of basic clay techniques
develop a proficient and safe use of the kiln
introduce you to the principles of studio health and safety in regards to clay and glazes
You will use a range of introductory sculpture techniques, tools and equipment to design and develop arrange of sculpture pieces.
To be eligible to enrol on this ACE Course, you must be:
a New Zealand citizen or resident
16 years of age or over
not a full-time secondary school student
However, if you are a full-time secondary school student, NMIT is able to enrol you if you meet all of the following:
are 16 years of age and over, and
attend this course outside of normal school hours, and
have obtained approval from the relevant school principal, and
have obtained approval from the TEC to enrol - please allow NMIT at least 14 working days before course start date to obtain approval from TEC. If approval is not gained before the course start date, you will be shifted to the next available intake.
