The theme for our 2017 symposium is Community and Project Based Learning.
This is about exploring the ways in which we – as students, teachers, and practitioners – engage with the community to provide learning environments where the students have a real authentic learning experience and the community benefits from the contribution of competent, capable students.
The key challenge for the future is to (re)build and (re)foster genuine connections and impact within our communities, including hands-on engagement with diverse populations that characterise New Zealand (including Māori, women, and young people). This challenge brings with it a need for researchers and practitioners to demonstrate the broader impact of their work beyond the academic community.
The symposium will be held on NMIT's Nelson campus in the Library Learning Centre (M block)
Registration is now available through Eventbrite(external link).
