Welcome new ākonga! Come and celebrate the beginning of your NMIT journey.
We are excited to welcome our new ākonga (students) to NMIT with a special Mihi Whakatau—a traditional Māori welcome that acknowledges and embraces new members of our learning community.
This is a time for building connections. Our kaimahi (staff) will formally welcome you and introduce you to your new learning environment.
Important Information for Ākonga
- This event is exclusively for new students.
- Please switch off your mobile phones during the ceremony.
- Please do not take photographs or videos during the Mihi Whakatau
- All bags and food, etc., to be left in the classroom
Morning schedule
