NCEA credits

There are a number of different ways that secondary students can study at the tertiary level to achieve NCEA credits.  Credits can be achieved via STAR courses, Trades Academy and also our Foundation Level 1 programmes.

NMIT Tertiary programmes do offer credits, however, not all are transferrable to a student’s NCEA credits and should be checked prior to applying.   Tertiary level credits are different to those studied at NCEA.

Foundation studies

We acknowledge that school is not for everyone and if this is the case for your young person, and you are finding they are becoming disengaged then our Foundations Level 1 and Level 2 programmes may be the support they need to succeed.

Are you considering study yourself?

NMIT offers a way to step into a new world of opportunity with a qualification that elevates your career or sets you up for a fresh start. NMIT’s flexible study options and supportive staff make it easy to upskill later in life. See more information here.
