Our structure

Across Aotearoa, work-based training organisations, institutes of technology and polytechnics have joined together to form Te Pūkenga – the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST).

Te Pūkenga NMIT has a focus on both delivering vocational education and undertaking applied research to support vocational learning.

Te Pūkenga NMIT receives funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC)(external link) to deliver programmes approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)(external link)

Te Pūkenga(external link) will develop career-focused qualifications and programmes in direct response to business needs, drawing input from our network and industries. We will provide learners with practical experience that ensures our graduates have the skills employers require.
