$3500* for the first 10 students who apply to go overseas on a student exchange
This has the potential to cover your flights, insurance and visa - broaden your horizons and travel while you study.
You also have the option to apply for your StudyLink loans and allowances, with the same amount you currently get, to financially assist you while studying overseas.
The student exchange programme is open to second and third-year students completing a bachelor degree at NMIT.
There is no age limit on applying, but a B- average is required.
All courses at our partner institutes are taught in English and you can complete part of your degree in Europe, Japan or the USA.
See the list of our partners.
We do our best to find you an institute with courses which will cross credit to your NMIT degree, and we’re here to guide you through the process from start to finish.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime to travel while you study, make new friendships and connections, experience a new culture and stand out from the crowd with an exchange semester on your C.V.
“The exchange is a great experience to develop yourself as both an academic and an individual. The skills you will gain, and the things you will learn about yourself will be invaluable.” – Monique Crawford, NMIT student on exchange in Germany, 2018
Two of our third year Bachelor of Commerce students have spent a semester abroad in Germany in 2018 and they are so glad they did. Read about their experiences.

*$3500 will be paid into your NZ bank account once you begin your course at the host university.
