Caroline Day has more than 20 years experience in counselling, supervision and education.

Caroline is experienced in working with couples, sexual violence, family therapy, addictions and with the Auckland Family Court. She has taught in these areas and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her teaching and research.

Career Development is an exciting area to be involved with right now, as we live in an age where people are no longer expected to remain in a career for life. Changes in circumstances and self-growth can and do lead to career changes and therefore working in the Careers fields can be immensely rewarding.

Caroline’s teaching experience is mainly in Auckland and university-based, however a recent arrival to Nelson, Caroline started tutoring at Career Development at NMIT in June 2020. She is very excited to be returning to tutoring and working alongside students in their learning journeys.

Caroline is a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and will be pursuing other options now she is Nelson-based.

Caroline’s teaching style is collaborative and focussed on learners. “I believe in having robust discussions and students contributing their knowledge and experience. Curiosity is important too. The students make teaching worthwhile” says Caroline.

As people look to transition out of one career into another, there is no better time than to take up study - whether at pre-degree level or Postgraduate level.

Caroline is also a current PhD student due to complete August 2020.
