Aeronautical Maintenance Engineering Training Schemes

Aeronautical Maintenance Engineering Training Schemes

Each Training Scheme can be studied independently online as you work towards your LAME certification.

Training Scheme’s allow you to apply and pay for one subject at a time, this way you can pass the CAA exam and enrol in the next Training Scheme.

Should you successfully complete all of the training schemes you can request for these to be applied to the New Zealand Diploma in Aeronautical Maintenance Certification(external link) so you receive a full diploma qualification as well as your LAME certification.

Alternatively, you may find it easier to study the New Zealand Diploma in Aeronautical Maintenance Certification(external link) rather than individual training schemes, the Diploma will keep you on track and offer you a fluid approach to learning.

With the Diploma you will also achieve two additional courses: Compass Compensation, and Rotorcraft Systems.

  • Training Schemes are designed to be part-time flexible learning that can be achieved while working full-time
  • Learners should allow approximately 23 hours per week of self-directed learning per course
  • Each training scheme course is available for 56 weeks from enrolment
  • Should you wish to cross-credit your completed training schemes to the Diploma you can do this within a four-year period. You must complete a minimum of 75 NMIT credits to be eligible for the Diploma
