Aviation Engineering

You'll have the opportunity to work on real aircrafts at RNZAF Base Woodbourne when you study aircraft engineering with us.
NMIT May 2014 AVIATION ENGINEERING RNZAF BASE WOODBOURNE 1

The majority of your training will take place at the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Base in Woodbourne - just a short drive from Blenheim, where you'll have access to some fantastic facilities and be able to put theory into practice with real aircraft.

Facilities on the Base include:

  • Two classrooms with workshops attached, plus RNZAF classrooms
  • Workshops - NMIT 3 Bay workshop, RNZAF Machine workshop, Gas Turbine workshop, Structures and Hydraulics workshops
  • Aircraft you'll be working with include Bell UH-1 and Robinson 22 helicopters and Seneca fixed-wing aircraft.

You'll also study some of your theory at classrooms at the NMIT Marlborough campus in Blenheim.
