eduroam

eduroam is a free, secure, wireless network, supporting connectivity and global roaming for Te Pūkenga kaimahi and ākonga.

If you can see it, you can use it.

If you are a Te Pūkenga staff member or student, you can use your campus email address and password to access the internet using the eduroam network onsite and while visiting other eduroam participating institutions(external link).

Visiting guests who are not eduroam participants can still access the NMIT Guest Wireless Network(external link).

Access eduroam

Connect to the ‘eduroam’ wireless network.

Log in with your email address

  • user@nmit.ac.nz
  • user@live.nmit.ac.nz

Some devices may pop up with a warning message to validate the certificate. Accept and connect.

Install eduroam

To download the ‘eduroam’ network profile, your device needs to be connected to the internet. This is best done when you are on-campus but can be done using your home internet, a mobile data connection, or a guest network.

  • Go to: cat.eduroam.org(external link)
  • Select NMIT from the organisation list
  • Download the installer
  • Enter your NMIT login details to authenticate
  • Connect to network, allow and join

iPad, iPhone, Android

  • Install geteduroam from your app store
  • Enter your NMIT login details to authenticate
  • Connect to network, allow and join
