The aim of this course is to introduce students to screen printing on a range of materials and surfaces, with focus on the design and printing process, and the safe use of materials, workshop tools and machinery.

Course content includes:

Design process for screen printing
Screen preparation
Colour mixing and tinting
Screen printing on various materials and surfaces
Safe use of materials, workshop tools and machinery
Workshop health and safety practices.

Entry requirements

To be eligible to enrol on this course, you must be:

a New Zealand citizen or resident
16 years of age or over
not a full-time secondary school student

However, if you are a full-time secondary school student, NMIT is able to enrol you if you meet all of the following:

are 16 years of age and over, and
attend this course outside of normal school hours, and
have obtained approval from the relevant school principal, and
have obtained approval from the TEC to enrol in an ACE Course - please allow NMIT at least 14 working days before course start date to obtain approval from TEC. If approval is not gained before the course start date, you will be shifted to the next available intake.
