Become a leader in the tourism and hospitality industry with this new programme developed hand-in-hand with businesses in Te Tauihu, New Zealand’s Top of the South.
This industry-driven programme will give you an understanding of the values, practices and quality systems that define successful hospitality and tourism businesses. You’ll learn what sustainability and corporate responsibility mean in practice, the concepts of kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga, and how they can be applied to your industry, allowing you to create distinctly New Zealand experiences.
You will develop knowledge and skills in managing people, events, stock, inventory, budgets, and the waste and quality of products and services. In conjunction with our on-campus restaurant, Rata Room, you will experience how to plan and execute effective promotional campaigns in the digital age, and the role of niche market tourism.
