This programme contributes to graduates obtaining their Maritime New Zealand licence: Advanced Deckhand – Fishing
If you want to enter the maritime industry or have been part of a fishing crew and want to move to a role where a Maritime New Zealand Advanced Deckhand – Fishing certificate may be required then this qualification is for you.
Through this qualification, you will gain the skills and knowledge you need to work under general supervision in coastal, offshore and unlimited operational limits as specified in the Maritime New Zealand Seafarer Certification and Operational Limits Framework.
Completion of this programme is a prerequisite to applying for a Maritime New Zealand Advanced Deckhand – Fishing (ADH-F) licence. Graduates will also be able to apply to be licensed under the International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel (STCW-F).
The ADH-F certificate corresponds with a certificate issued under Resolution 4 of the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel (STCW-F).
