Fees

Fees vary depending on what you are studying.

Once your application is successful you will receive a confirmation pack from us. This includes a Secure Your Enrolment form which once returned confirms your place on the programme.

You will then receive an invoice for which you arrange a payment option.

Ways of paying your fees

You can pay by

  • Cash
  • Cheque
  • Direct credit
  • EFTPOS
  • Credit card (Mastercard or Visa) - there is a credit card surcharge of 1.5% of the value of the transaction for all manual payments. Pay online(external link)
  • Debit card
  • Automatic payment (payment by instalments) for fees over $1,000. Note - to pay by automatic payment, all other payment options need to have been investigated first and this option requires prior approval.

Payments by employers / organisations

NMIT may already have an invoice arrangement with your employer or organisation (e.g. Working Income New Zealand - WINZ), it may be worthwhile checking with us before applying. Alternatively, you can arrange for them to pay your fees by invoice, credit card, in person or by bank transfer.

If your organisation does not already have an agreement, you will need to provide the following details on your application form;

  • Organisation name
  • Contact name
  • Contact telephone number
  • Contact email address
  • Invoice street address

Student debt

You must settle all amounts owing to NMIT incurred as a result of your programme, accommodation, overdue library books, or participation in activities of NMIT. Results will be withheld, and you cannot graduate until all debts are paid. It is best to talk to student support if you are experiencing financial difficulties so we can help with this rather than wait until graduation.

NMIT reserves the right to supply personal information relating to a student to debt collection agencies, or to any other person as may be necessary, in respect of any debt a student may have with NMIT.
