After 20 years in the industry from the back of house through to the front, Kate is well qualified to take on the position of Restaurant Manager at NMIT.

Kate's main experience lies in kitchen consultancy and management. She’s worked as a personal chef in private households, cooked for musicians such as Dave Dobbyn, Bic Runga and Tim Finn and more recently headed the kitchen at local establishment, Oxford St Kitchen. Her consultancy work has taken her across a vast array of hospitality businesses and her friendly, flexible approach and attention to detail have set her in good stead.
Her main passion though is people and training, and she is in the process of studying for her Bachelor of Business Studies at Massey University. She is combining this with her belief that high quality service is a key foundation for the hospitality industry. "The Rata Room is the ideal environment for the two paths to meet." 
Her pastimes include scrolling Instagram for drool worthy food styling, spending time with her husband and three daughters and feasting with friends, glass in hand.
