The first of a series of workshops run for the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) saw over 40 students at NMIT on Wednesday 22 March. The workshop was designed to help develop the leadership skills necessary for the secondary school students to run their own businesses this year. Students got to hear from CEO’s, company directors and entrepreneurs in the region about what successful leadership looks like and to inspire them in their own enterprises. NMIT in partnership with the NRDA and Young Enterprise Trust coordinate the scheme in the top of the south with over 280 students taking part in 2017. Students develop and run their own business with support from local business mentors and secondary school teachers.
