Following the resignation of Liam Sloan from his role as Chief Executive to take up a position at Federation University, the Board of NMIT is delighted to announce the appointment of Wayne Jackson as Acting Chief Executive of NMIT.

Wayne is currently Acting Chief Executive at NorthTec, and he has a strong leadership background. He is a former Chief Executive Officer of Grant Thornton NZ and was a Partner with Ernst and Young NZ for 19 years and a Director of its Business Advisory Practice. He has also held several CEO roles and Directorships in New Zealand.

Wayne will take up the Acting role on Monday 31 August.

Wayne will remain in the role until a permanent appointment is made and there will be a comprehensive hand over process between Liam and Wayne.

Wayne has said that he is looking forward to the temporary move South from Whangarei and to providing leadership of the organisation until a permanent Chief Executive is appointed.
