NMIT students win big in film competition

Creating and compositing the visual effects in a film competition paid off for the NMIT Diploma in Animation students.

The  Level 6 students were part of a film team competing in the New Zealand national 48hours film competition(external link) shot in March this year..

Their task within the team was to create and composite the visual effects for the film.  The film was chosen as a Christchurch regional finalist and premiered in Christchurch’s Hoyts Cinema. It was also selected as a Best Production Design national finalist.

The top 18 films made in 48 hours from across the country will be judged by a national and international panel including Elijah Wood and Cliff Curtis.

The grand final on 22 May(external link) will showcase New Zealand’s filmmaking talent in one of the most subscribed film competitions in the country.
