Meet the crew

April 2016's crew of eleven Superyacht students hosted family, friends and tutors on Friday last week as we gave them a send-off into the blue yonder. Find out who they are and where they are headed now.

The April 2016 graduates of our Superyacht Crewing programme were just as diverse as any other we have seen.

Let us introduce you to just a handful of the eleven successful graduates this term.

Christian Bruijn is a local lad who grew up sailing and is aiming to reach Captain aboard Super Yachts.

Rahul Mahesh was our first Indian International student. Rahul saved up to attend the programme, travelled from Bangalore and is looking at leaping into the Maritime industry.

Riley O’Neil is another local who grew up sailing and has grown his confident through attending the superyacht programme, and now destined for great things!

Nicole Habershon is from Nelson, she grew up playing around on boats with her family and is now looking to enter the superyacht industry.

Lucas Holmes, after 8 years as a kayak guide in the Abel Tasman, is at home on the water and wishes to make it his career. Lucas is travelling to the South of France to seek work aboard a Super Yacht.

Michele Mackenzie is a mum who decided to take time to upskill and have the career she didn’t know about twenty years ago.
