Marlborough campus pōwhiri

If you are studying in Marlborough, start your studies with our traditional pōwhiri/welcome ceremony.

The pōwhiri is intended to welcome you to NMIT and to celebrate the start of your study.

It is held outside on the lawn between J and D Blocks where there will be seating arranged.

Before the official ceremony begins, assemble on Ballinger Drive, outside J Block.

You will be briefed on the pōwhiri procedure and practise your waiata (song). The official ceremony starts at around 11am.

If it is raining the pōwhiri will be held in the Marlborough Research Centre Theatre.
