The Rata Room is a training restaurant for our Hospitality and Cookery students. We aim to provide a realistic environment to develop work and world ready graduates for careers in the cookery and hospitality industries.
The ever changing menu features locally sourced ingredients and wines. We are fully licensed for both lunch and dinner.
Open for Café style lunch on Tuesday and Wednesdays with a great selection of seasonal cabinet food, a ‘blackboard’ menu and of course excellent coffee. Service starts at 9.30am for morning tea with lunch service and blackboard specials from 11.30am. We remain open until 1.30pm. We no longer accept reservations for lunch.
The Rata Room opens at 6.00pm for our evening meal this year on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings only, and bookings are only accepted between 6pm and 7pm.
We will be partnering with the Giesen group(external link) to walk through their portfolio of wines. From Mirabeau Provence Rose to Barossan Shiraz… join us to enjoy a 6 course wine and meal matching with attendance from Giesen's winemaker. Opportunity will also be available to purchase directly on the night from Giesen at specially reduced prices. The famous NMIT Cake Day. Culinary Arts students explore their potential. A selection of sweet and savoury delights will be on offer at the buffet.
