Nau mai, haere mai ki
Te Tari Māori / School of Māori Studies

The origins of Te Tari Māori / School of Māori Studies came from a recommendation from Iwi and Māori and a Nelson Polytechnic working party recommendation in 1992. In 1994 the first Māori language programmes began at Te Tari Māori.

Since 2000, TTM has been separated from the Community and Cultural Studies faculty and was established with its own school and facilities. Recently Te Tari Māori has joined the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and is based in D Block, Hardy St, Nelson.
