Located in the heart of our Nelson campus, you will have many opportunities to mix with New Zealand students and use our extensive facilities.

If you want to study English language courses in New Zealand, our English language school has a great selection for you.

 English Language Courses at NMIT:

You will develop reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary skills to achieve the level of knowledge required. English courses vary in the level of entry, length of course, and qualifications gained. Our average class size is 10 - 16 students.

Many international students study to meet entry requirements for our mainstream programmes. It is possible to transfer from the English Language School to academic programmes, provided you meet the English proficiency and academic entry criteria.

Our English Language School has regular intake dates throughout the year.

You can apply or enrol from your home country, or arrange enrolment at International Education Services at NMIT. This must be completed before the start of your programme.

Placement tests (if required) are held on your first day to ensure you will study at a level that suits your abilities.

Full-time and part-time study is available (conditions apply to part-time study).
