This programme is designed for people with no prior experience of the Māori language. It provides Māori language learning at a foundation level and valuable insights into Māoridom.

Content

Includes Karakia, proverbs, idioms, waiata, pronunciation, vocabulary and sentence structures, key cultural concepts such as looking after Papatuānuku (Mother Earth).

Entry Requirements

All applicants:

Have a genuine interest in learning the Māori language and cultural values. An interview will be arranged to discuss suitability on this programme.
