Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 4)


Study whilst employed as an apprentice in the automotive industry. Choose from a wide variety of elective courses to cater for your area of interest.

A MITO (Motor Industry Training Organisation) recognised programme.

Studied part time in block and evening classes over 3 or more years.

This programme has not been approved for international students.

Compulsory courses provide a generic understanding and skill base of automotive skills, after which students can pursue their chosen area of speciality by choosing from the suite of elective courses.

 

>Entry Requirements

 

 

All applicants:

 

  • NMIT Certificate in Entry to Automotive Engineering (Level 2) or demonstrated equivalent skills and knowledge
  • Demonstration of likelihood of success on the programme by interview
  • Students must hold the appropriate driver's licence prior to attempting any unit standards that require it
  • Apprentices must have a 3-party contract between themselves, NMIT and an employer

Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate an IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent.

Prior learning or work experience may be credited to this programme of study.

Work in the automotive industry either as a sole trader, a contractor or as a technician with a company.

This programme is not approved for international students.
