Programme structure:

• One year full time or part time equivalent
• Nelson campus

Content includes:
Music performance, music studies/theory, sounds and moving image and instrument practice and specialisation.

Entry Requirements

All applicants:

• There are no minimum academic entry requirements
• Must provide evidence of a reasonable level of proficiency on their principal instrument, demonstrated by either an audition or DVD or video recording. The audition will require a demonstration of practical skills, theory knowledge and aural ability.

An initial discussion with the programme leader may be required to assess applicants individual motivation, commitment to, and suitability for the programme.

Applicants whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate an IELTS overall Academic band score of 5.5 (issued within the last two years); OR equivalent.

Work as an assistant in the music industry or perform music. Further study, such as the NMIT Diploma in Arts and Media (Contemporary Music).
