Conservation Courses
NMIT is the only tertiary institution in the country that works in partnership with the
Department of Conservation
to deliver the Trainee Ranger Certificate. Graduates have the opportunity to apply for a limited number of two-year ranger trainee contracts within DOC or seek employment in local and regional councils, nature tourism ventures, biodiversity work or zoos.
NMIT’s Primary Industries programmes have a strong focus on “hands on” careers and provide training for some of the region’s key industries. Our staff are well qualified and work closely with industry to ensure that programmes are aligned with industry needs.
We offer training for a number of land-based industries including aquaculture, horticulture and viticulture and conservation. When you study with us, you'll find our staff experienced and committed to helping you with gain the qualifications you’ll need to progress in the career of your choice.
