Māori Language Courses

NMIT's Te Tari Maori, School of Maori Study offers two Maori Language courses. Study the Treaty of Waitangi in one of the workshops, or chose one of the full time courses for Maori culture and to learn to speak Maori. The Certificate in Te Rito o te Reo provides learning at foundation level whereas the Certificate in Te Tuara me te Tinana o te Reo is a more advanced programme so that learners can pursue  higher learning and employment with te reo Maori.

NMIT offers courses in Māori language, Māori cultural tourism and workshops on Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Provides a strong understanding of te reo Māori me nga tikanga for people with some prior knowledge of Māori language and cultural values.
  • Includes the National Certificate in Reo Māori Level 4

  • Total immersion Māori
  • Some prior knowledge required
